Avatar: The Way of Water was a huge box office success - breaking multiple records, and grossing about $2.3 billion worldwide - making it the highest-grossing film of 2022 and the third highest grossing film of all time (only behind the original Avatar and Avengers: Endgame). It was also one of the most technically advanced films ever imagined, requiring a close partnership between the filmmakers and Sony. The result was the Sony VENICE Extension System, which allows you to separate the sensor from the camera body. We caught up with James Cameron and the team behind Avatar in an exclusive Q&A session at Graumann’s Chinese Theater.
