Mission Statement
We believe the production community needs a place to come together, share experiences and stay current with the latest technology. With the Digital Media Production Center, Sony has made a long-term commitment to taking a more active role in the filmmaking community.
A Place To Learn & Grow, For Everyone
At the DMPC, every type of camera is a source of knowledge and inspiration. From interchangeable lens cameras and camcorders, to live studio cameras and digital cinematography cameras, we offer classes on every Sony camera. For Live Production, the DMPC offers classes on Sony’s production switchers, servers, IP Live products and camera shading in our state-of-the-art control room. To enrich the learning experience, the DMPC has a standing set with a complete lighting grid on a 3,500 square-foot sound stage and a 1,100 square-foot photo studio for hands-on classes and demonstrations.
From mastering monitors to a viewing room with Sony’s Crystal LED display, the DMPC allows images to be switched, replayed, and color graded using nearly every display technology. The 27-seat Viewing Room is home to Sony’s Crystal LED display. The 24’ wide display system has over 37 million sub-pixels and an ultra-wide aspect ratio of 2.66:1, making it ideal for displaying anamorphic VENICE content. The DMPC also has a dedicated Workflow Suite featuring the industry’s leading post-production tools, including the ability to color grade XAVC, RAW, and X-OCN files on HD, UHD, 4K and even 8K displays in both SDR and HDR.
