Wildlife filmmaker takes the Sony FX6 into the wild
By: SonyCine Team
When cinematographer Dawson Dunning set out to shoot the salmon breeding season in the Alaskan wilderness, he knew he'd need a camera that could highlight the grand spectacle of the landscape as well as capture the simple beauty of the salmon swimming.
The FX6 proved to be the perfect camera because of its small size, excellent dynamic range and versatility. Its lightweight design allowed him to move quickly and efficiently, which is a must with wildlife filming and the auto ND feature was pivotal to making on-the-fly decisions. The FX6's dynamic range allowed him to capture shots that were underwater and above water at the same time, while the cache recording function made sure he never missed a moment.
